CONTINUING TO BE YOUNG AND IN GOV

Thanks a lot to everyone who read and responded to my post on being “Young and in Gov” a couple of weeks ago. The positive response was overwhelming – it seems there are (luckily for me / the sector) plenty of young and enthusiastic local government officers out there who are willing to respond to slightly strange lonely heart adverts from women they’ve never met.

As a consequence we’ve decided to get together this month for an initial gathering, and to talk about the best way for us to develop the network.

I thought I’d give a quick update on the details of what we’ve got planned, and please get in touch if you’d like to get involved.

Young and in Gov Network Launch 28th November 2012

Westminster Suite, Local Government House, Smith Square, London, SW1P 3HZ

Agenda:

  • Welcome (Rachel Burnham/LGA) 18.00
  • Speaker address (Graeme McDonald, Director of Policy at SOLACE on “Things I wish someone would have told me when I started my career in local government”) 18.05-18.20
  • Q&A 18.20-18.40
  •  Food, refreshments and networking 18.40 – 19.30

Please feel free to forward this to friends and colleagues.

  1. Sounds like a great plan! If only I was in any way classable as young again…

    1. In local government terms, Glen, we’re all young…!
